"The Future Of The Vogue Theatre"
As of January 1, 2006 I regret to inform the general public
that the Vogue Theatre will be closing its doors. New owners
of the Vogue are attempting to turn the Vogue into a supper
club, essentially eliminating the use of the space for live
entertainment and film.
The Vogue has hosted thousands of shows, and has been the home
of such festivals as; The Vancouver International Film Festival,
The Vancouver International Comedy Festival, the Vancouver International
Jazz Festival, Celtic Festival, Documentary Film and Video Festival,
Vancouver Theatresports, and many reputable others. This heritage
and venue legendary venue of 1,144-seats has been catering to
the city's theatre and music crowd since 1941. With its bright
yellow exterior, Art Deco design and bright neon sign, it has
welcomed some of the biggest entertainment names around.
